Before going to law school, Sam Begley worked for a year each in the offices of Mississippi governor William Winter and Jackson Mayor Dale Danks. After graduating from law school, he served as a law clerk to Judge Walter Nixon and Magistrate Judge Britt Singletary of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi in Biloxi. During his senior year in college, he was an intern at the Joint Committee for Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review (PEER) of the Mississippi Legislature.
